We are starting out Grab and Go again this week. As shortages in our supply chain cause us issues with purchases of food items, we are not sure of the complete menu at this point. We will be updating everyone as we find out. It is hard to believe that there are these shortages. Stay tuned.
We are starting our Grab and Go service this Wednesday again. Call the lodge at (703) 281-4370 choice #1 for more information after 4:00 pm.

I read something that was on point with what is going on today. "I’ve sworn an oath of solitude until the pestilence is purged from our lands." We hope you can stay at home during this event and know that many are struggling. We again want to let everyone know that if this virus impacts you in any way, we want to know. And, if you need the help of others, it is just a phone call away. Please let us help if we can!

On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the Governor of Virginia signed "Executive Order 53" that orders some non-essential services, including all recreation and entertainment services, to close.
Hair salons, barbers, massage therapists and similar non-essential services who can't feasibly carry out social distancing must close.
The order covers three categories of businesses:
Dining and on-site alcohol establishments are allowed to keep operating through delivery and takeout services but must close on-site dining to the public. That includes restaurants, food courts, farmers' markets, breweries, distilleries, vineyards, tasting rooms, and Moose lodges.
This Executive Order shall be effective March 23, 2020, amends Amended Order of the Governor and State Health Commissioner Declaration of Public Health Emergency, Order of Public Health Emergency One, and shall remain in full force and in effect until amended or rescinded by further executive order.
As we go through this stressful time, please continue to be safe. We will make it through this.
As of today, Governor Ralph Northam urged Virginians to follow federal guidelines restricting public gatherings of 10 or more people in any business but refrained from issuing mandatory limits or closures. But it is our assessment that for the good of our members, we will be closed for the next two weeks and maybe longer depending on conditions on the ground.
So, starting today, March 17, 2020, the lodge will be closed for the next two weeks. We hope to open at the earliest date possible. We know that many of you come to the lodge on an everyday basis. And, we thank you for your patronage. Please know we are doing this with an abundance of caution for our members.
In closing, please say tuned for more information to come. If you have any questions please leave us a message via our contact us page on our website.
To our members,
Like so many of you, we have spent the last several days and weeks learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world. For our lodge, that means understanding how it affects our employees, members, and communities, and then making the necessary adjustments to our work and operations.
We have one simple objective that guides us: keeping you and our members safe. With this in mind, we have made several moves in our business in response to the threat of the coronavirus.
We have ramped up our cleaning at our lodge and are adding hand sanitizer in the social quarters. There are also many places in the lodge to wash your hands. We are also continuously sanitizing the counters so that members can come into the lodge safely.
We are closely following the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) guidelines and recommendations on the steps we can take to help prevent the spread of the virus. We have shared specific instructions with our employees on the importance of washing their hands and staying home if they feel sick.
We know that many of you want to attend functions at the lodge, and we are doing all we can to be safe here. We do ask that you also help us to protect those that are healthy. If you are sick or have come in contact with someone who is positive, please stay at home until you are feeling better.
As we will continue to closely monitor the situation, we will continue to do all we can to protect our members and our employees.
Thank you
On Saturday, October 5, 2019, the Vienna Moose Lodge participated in the Town of Vienna's Oktoberfest celebration. This was the second year that the lodge participated. It was a great time. The lodge had a booth that showcased our involvement in Vienna, our community service, our volunteering, and our donations to our community. We had so many community members come up to ask about the Moose Fraternity and what we were all about.
Yes, we told them about Mooseheart and Moosehaven, the children and seniors entrusted to our care, Camp Ross, and how we have been involved as a lodge since 1958. During this day we passed out candy to the kids, water bottles to help everyone stay hydrated, bowls of water for our K9 friends, but most of all we were there to pass out Child ID and Senior ID kits. We had a great turnout for the kits. We managed to produce 17 kits.
We know that during an emergency, time is precious and important. When someone we love is missing the longer we take to find that person the farther away, they may travel. So, a quick response is very important. With more than 2,100 children reported missing to authorities each day, it is important to be prepared. We like the fact that our lodge helped prepare families for something we all hope will never be needed. But we know having an ID Kit will greatly assist in the emergency response and recovery effort when needed.
We did have a large number of attendees asking about ID kits for pets. We are looking into this for next year. We also plan on bringing dog bones too! We want to thank all the members that helped out this last weekend. We could not have done this without your continued support. The Town of Vienna and our lodge are lucky to have you!
If you grew up around here, you might have fond memories of having bonfires on Hannah’s hill in Oakton or bonfires while camping in the woods. We want to capture this feeling again here at the lodge. So, on Friday, September 27, 2019, and on Saturday, October 12, 2019, we are hosting two different campfires here at the lodge to have fun. We invite you to attend to get to know your fellow Moose Members.
We will be having smores, cold drinks, and more going on each night. So, invite your friends and family to attend! This is going to be a fun time for everyone.

On Wednesday, July 31, 2019, the Vienna Moose Lodge through its Heart of the Community outreach program, donated funds to help "Friends of a New Beginning" in its 6th annual charity golf tournament to be held on August 4, 2019, at the Bristow Manor Golf Club in Bristow Virginia. The Friends of a New Beginning is in its 10th year of supporting others in need of breaking their additions. We are proud to support such a worthy cause.
The mission of the Friends of a New Beginning is to support, encourage, and mentor the clients of A New Beginning in the healing process from the devastation of addiction and its effects on the addict. Through our mission, we hope to help the clients discover the meaning of acceptance, self-worth, and respect for themselves and their invaluable contribution to society.
We look forward to helping them in the future. Keep up the great work!
