Whether you call it cornhole, bags, or “that game I absolutely dominate at every Lodge picnic,” it’s time to put your tossing skills to the test. The 4th Annual Moose International Cornhole Tournament is set for August 14–16, 2026, hosted by Hayward Castro Valley, CA Lodge #1491 (20835 Rutledge Rd., Castro Valley, CA) — and registration is officially open!
The Details You Need
Mark your calendars and, more importantly, mark August 3, 2026 in big red ink — that’s the registration deadline, and all entries must be postmarked (or submitted) by that date. No exceptions, no refunds after the deadline, no sad faces at the door.
Here’s what it costs to get in on the action:
- Singles: $30 per person
- Doubles: $15 per person (no partner? Let them know and they’ll try to match you up!)
- Friday Night Blind Draw: $15 per person, with $5 from every entry going to Moose Charities. Sign-ups run 4:30–6:30 p.m. at the Lodge, and play starts as soon as teams are announced.
Ready to sign up? You can register online or print the mail-in registration form and send it to Moose International, Attn: Will Harrison, 155 S. International Drive, Mooseheart, IL 60539-1172. Questions? Contact Will Harrison at (630) 966-2214 or wharrison@mooseintl.org.
More Than Just Cornhole
Lodge #1491 is rolling out the red carpet all weekend long. Expect trivia and a DJ afterparty Thursday, karaoke and Texas Hold ‘Em Friday, a spaghetti dinner Saturday, and a Bloody Mary bar Sunday to toast the champions (or drown your near-misses).
Need a place to crash? Two host hotels are nearby — the Comfort Inn (2532 Castro Valley Blvd., ask for the Moose Rate!) and the Holiday Inn Express (2419 Castro Valley Blvd.) — and rooms will go fast, so book early.
Know Before You Throw
A few quick rules of the road: play follows American Cornhole Rules & Regulations, and all bags must be inspected and meet American Cornhole standards. The tournament is open to active Loyal Order of Moose and Women of the Moose members, so bring a valid photo I.D. and your membership card. Good sportsmanship is the name of the game — and no gambling on matches, folks.
A Look Back at 2024
Last time around in Paradise, CA, the competition was fierce. Aaron Rosen of Yuba City Lodge #1204 took home top honors in Singles, with James Seisun (Westchester #1780) and Richard Graybill (Vacaville #1967) rounding out the podium. In Doubles, Bob Guerin & Ross Moore of Vacaville Lodge #1967 claimed the crown — and Vacaville flexed serious depth across both brackets. Check out the full 2024 results here.
Will Vacaville defend its dominance? Will the home-Lodge heroes of Hayward Castro Valley have the hometown edge? There’s only one way to find out.
