When you think of the Vienna Moose Lodge, you probably think of Friday night dinners, competitive cornhole tournaments, a welcoming face at the bar, and a community of people who treat you like family. You think of a place that feels like a second home.
But keeping our second home running safely, efficiently, and comfortably takes a lot of work behind the scenes. Right now, we have an important opportunity to significantly improve our Lodge building—and we need your help to make it happen.
The Opportunity: The Fairfax County ECAP Grant
Fairfax County’s Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination runs a program called ECAP (the Energy Conservation Assistance Program). This initiative is designed to help local organizations, common-interest communities, and nonprofits upgrade their facilities to be more energy-efficient and resilient.
We are currently pushing to secure a $10,000 ECAP grant to help replace and upgrade our aging HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system.
Securing this grant would be a massive win for our Lodge. It isn’t just about fixing the air conditioning; it’s about lowering our monthly utility bills, protecting our physical infrastructure, and practicing good environmental stewardship. Every dollar we save on energy bills is a dollar that goes right back into our core mission: supporting our community, funding local charities, and taking care of our children and seniors at Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
